In the past it was common in Montevideo that taxi payments were paid with vouchers. Which was a cumbersome process. A local taxi company integrated Cyclos with their GPS system which makes it now possible to pay the ride by sending a text message to the (short) number of the taxi company. After the payment the confirmation will show up at the GPS screen of the Taxi. As well the users as the taxi company can view the payments, either via web or by sending an SMS message.
